Prolific and popular, Caetano Veloso has been called "one of the greatest songwriters of the century" and "a pop musician/poet/filmmaker/political activist whose stature in the pantheon of international pop musicians is on a par with that of Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, and Lennon/McCartney."

Veloso's work is often characterized by frequent merging not only of international styles, but of Brazilian folkloric styles and rhythms.

Veloso has won nine Latin Grammy Awards and two Grammy Awards. On November 14, 2012, he was honored as the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year.

Veloso helped found the style of Tropicalismo, though his music includes many styles. Here he performs a relaxed and lyrical version of his 1983 hit "Voce e Linda."
