Live at Carnegie Hall

"Chan Chan" is widely regarded as the signature tune of the Buena Vista Social Club. This live version features footage from the classic Wim Wenders film.

The brainchild of Ry Cooder, the Buena Vista Social Club is the most successful World Music project since Paul Simon's "Graceland." Many Cuban musicians were rescued from obscurity by the project. The project was named after the members club in Havana, Cuba, that held dances and musical activities, becoming a popular location for musicians to meet and play during the 1940s.
